Eradicoat

Eradicoat is a new crop protection product against aphids and spider mites. It is permitted in all crops outdoors as well as in protected cultivation in Germany. The active ingredient maltodextrin is not relevant for residues.

ERADICOAT®: 100% biodegradable

ERADICOAT® contains the active ingredient maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is a natural multiple sugar based on glucose, which is obtained from corn starch. Maltodextrin is also used in the food industry. The active ingredient is therefore classified as not relevant to residues and is 100% biodegradable.

THE EFFECT OF ERADICOAT® REQUIRES A CUSTOMIZED SPRAYING STRATEGY:

The pests must come into contact with ERADICOAT® as completely as possible. For this purpose, the amount of water applied must be adapted to the respective level of development of the crop plants. The maximum application rate of 37.5 l / ha ERADICOAT® must not be exceeded. If less water is required to wet the culture, the application rate must be reduced accordingly (concentration; maximum 2.5%). For cultures that are difficult to wet, the addition of 0.05% KARIBU® is recommended. KARIBU® promotes wetting and supports ERADICOAT® in gluing the stigmas. For the best possible control, ERADICOAT® has to dry on the surface of the pests within one hour. This is the only way to effectively close the stigmas (respiratory openings). This requires an ambient temperature of at least 20 ° C and a low relative humidity (early afternoon or adapted climate control in the greenhouse).

After the treatment, the population must be checked intensively for pests. Generally, two treatments at intervals of 3-5 days are recommended. Immediately after the last treatment has dried on, beneficial organisms can be used again in the crop. The spraying technique must also be able to wet the underside of the sheet, e.g. by using a blower sprayer in indoor cultures, air-assisted field sprayers, three-nozzle fork in strawberries or droplegs.

According to our own observations, it is easy to control: common spider mite (Tetranychus urticae), green cucumber aphid (Aphis gossypii), peach aphid (Mycus persicae), black bean louse (Aphis fabea). Pests with heavy hair, such as currant aphids (Cryptomyzus ribis) or hidden pests are problematic. These cannot be combated sufficiently.
